Trophy Mule Deer Bowhunts With Big Sky Country Outfitting
What do you get trophy mule
deer bowhunting with Big Sky Country Outfitting?

guides who know how to kill big mule deer
- High kill success on
huge Pope & Young Class Mule Deer
- Several opportunities
for almost every hunter.
- Resident bowhunting
pressure practically non-existent.
- Exciting spot and stalk

Bowhunters on this quality
hunt get first crack in September and October at the giant
Mulies that live in the limited rifle draw areas of the
open prairies. The weather is usually warm and windy,
which makes for great stalking conditions. We also do
some ground blind hunting in one area. You can expect
shots in the 30-50 yard range, with the occasional under
25 yard shot.
Additional Mule Deer Bowhunting Information:
We have figured out the best techniques to get even novice
bowhunters with no stalking experience quality shots at
Pope and Young class deer. It's not usually very hard
to get within bow range. The toughest part of spot and
stalk bowhunts is getting good shots at bucks lying in
bushes, jumping out of beds, or staring right at you,
but we can help you with this exciting, challenging task.
The number of really good opportunities vary depending
on weather conditions, your physical condition, skill,
and luck and range anywhere from 1 to 6 quality shots.
Hunters with us for the first time should take the first
shot at any 150-class buck that presents itself, while
repeat hunters - or those on 1 on 1 hunts - can consider
hunting specifically for a 160-170+ buck.
Many miles are covered by foot, so you need to be in good
shape. The area is about 3000 feet elevation and most
of it is flat prairie, but it can get hot out and the
more ground you can cover, the better the hunting. The
normal temperatures for September and early October are
50-80 F with possible rain. Late October temperatures
occasionally drop to 20 F with a good wind, but 35-70
is normal. We can take 12 hunters in 4 zones which are
all good but vary slightly; call to see which areas are
available for your hunt.
