TERMS, CONDITIONS
and ADDITIONAL HUNT INFORMATION
These are all inclusive prices
in U.S. funds with the license and taxes included. The hunts
are generally 1 hunter to 1 guide. Call us if you wish to
set up a 2 on 1 hunt.
Booking a hunt and payment schedule:
A deposit of 25% of the complete cost is required to book
a hunt. An additional 25% is required by January 10 of your
hunt year then the final 50% balance is due by August 1. Once
a deposit is received by us then a hunt contract will be sent
to you to be signed and mailed back. Except for transferring
deposits to a friend all deposits are fully non-refundable.
The deposits cannot be transferred to a future year.
Flight, pick up and hotel information:
You will have to fly into either Calgary or Medicine Hat airports
the saturday before your hunt starts for week long hunts.
We will either pick you up from the airport or you can take
a shuttle to your hotel. The reason we have you arriving early
is it leaves us with enough time to deal with any unforseen
problems that may occur with the airlines such as lost luggage.
What We Provide:
We provide all your meals,
accommodations, transportation and field care of trophies.
We do provide some soft drinks/pop but liquor is not provided.
We will stop at a store for you to purchase these items on
your way to the lodge.
Additional Hunt Information:
It is your responsibility to make sure you will not be refused
entry into Canada. Refusal of entry by Canada Customs and
Immigration is not sufficient reason for a refund. If you've
ever had any criminal charges, even a D.U.I., you might
have difficulty entering Canada and may need to clear it
up months beforehand. We can help you to do this. Call if
you have questions about it. If you are coming on a rifle
hunt then you will need a firearms declaration form to clear
your rifle through customs. We will send you one a month
or two before your hunt starts. There is a $30 payment at
the border to process this form. If you have another hunt
planned in Alberta in the same year you can only shoot one
animal of each species per year.
Wound Policy
We have a wound policy. That means that if you draw blood
on an animal it is up to the guide to decide how much time
is spent looking for that animal. Of course we always make
every effort to recover any wounded animals and we don't
encourage unethical shots.
Extra Costs:
Besides the $30 rifle import form the only other extra costs
would be one nights hotel upon arrival and possibly another
upon departure depending on when you will be leaving. Meat
processing and shipping or extra baggage and any tips for
the guide and cook that you feel they deserve (standard
total amount is approximately 10% of the hunt cost). We
can also arrange taxidermy for our clients.
Getting
your antlers, cape and meat home:
The easiest way to get your antlers and cape back home is
for us to put the items in a thick cardboard box and for
you to take it with you or your flight home. We put garden
hose around the antler tips, clean, dry and then tape up
the skull plate and we freeze the cape. Frozen meat can
also be taken home with you in a cooler. Generally all the
meat must be cut by a licensed butcher and you are responsible
for paying for the processing. Shipping meat back to your
home is another possibility but it is an expensive, complicated
and time consuming task.
